Product Updates

With the Stamp Duty rush now behind us, we just want to say: well done. It’s been a huge lift for conveyancers across the country, and we know how hard you’ve all been working to keep things moving.

Orbital Residential has been open on your screens day in, day out, helping you manage the volume when it mattered most. In February and March alone, you ran nearly 50% more cases through the platform than in December and January.

Since January, we’ve also been busy rolling out updates to support you even further. These latest improvements mark a shift in how Orbital Residential helps with your day-to-day. We’ve expanded beyond title checking and document review to support the next stage of the process. From Draft Enquiries to Client Ready Reports, we’re starting to take care of the follow-on work too — giving you a head start on the tasks that come next.

Here’s a look at everything we’ve added so far this year:

Draft enquiries

Go from flag raised to drafted enquiry in one step

Enquiries often need careful wording — and writing them up takes time. Orbital Residential now helps you get there faster. When a red or amber flag is raised, a draft enquiry is provided alongside it,  giving you a clear, well-phrased starting point that’s ready to use or adapt.

It speeds up a repetitive but important part of the process, helping you move from review to response more efficiently. Whether you’re working through volume or reviewing more complex matters, it provides a useful guide for how to raise something without starting from scratch. You can also export all your enquiries into a single Word document, ready to send across to the other side.

When you’re new to conveyancing, you may know a particular enquiry needs to be raised for a specific matter but you aren’t quite sure how to phrase it. That’s where Orbital Residential’s draft enquiries really help. With a single click, it generates a clear, well-worded enquiry based on specific issues or defects that have been flagged. It gives junior team members confidence while they’re still learning, and it provides an added layer of comfort from a risk perspective, which is a great tool when supervising a team."

TA10 report

A clearer view of what's included in the sale

Our new TA10 Report highlights the key items for sale, along with any comments or exclusions, making it easy to report everything to your client in one clear copy-and-paste.

New questions

Spot more, with less effort

We’ve added a number of new questions to help you identify key issues more easily. These include:

- A summary of all Tenant Covenants in the Lease
- A summary of Rentcharge terms
- A comparison of TA6 works against Local Search planning permissions and building regulations
- Checks for missing filed documents

You’ll see a ‘Beta’ tag next to new additions.

Expanded view of lender requirements

Expanded view of lender requirements

In late February, Nationwide introduced stricter wording around mortgagee protection provisions in its Part II requirements. For many conveyancers, it added pressure at an already busy time, with the stamp duty deadline fast approaching.

To help you stay ahead of these changes, we’ve expanded our coverage of lender requirements from the UK Finance Handbook, adding 15 new questions that include updates from Nationwide and others. The relevant details are now built into your report and marked with a green tag, helping you stay aligned with lender guidance and keep pace with industry changes.

Client ready reporting (coming in April)

Orbital Residential has always helped you review properties quickly. But once you’ve got all the key insights, the next step has been up to you: turning that information into something clear and usable for your client.

That’s about to change.

With client ready reporting, you’ll be able to generate a professional, client-facing version of your Orbital report — complete with plain-English explanations, supporting plans, client logos, and clear context around any issues flagged. It’s designed to help you explain what matters, without writing from scratch.

This new feature will streamline your process, save time, and improve consistency across reports. It’s a better experience for your team and a more understandable one for your clients.

Coming in April to Orbital Residential.

Everything you need to keep moving

This release builds on the things you already rely on Orbital Residential for, while giving you more support with the next step in the process: writing enquiries, reporting to clients, and handling the details with care.

All the new features are live in the platform now, and client reporting will be available at the end of April.
